Run down to the Dollar Tree & get some tea lights & clear glass thingies (big enough to put a tea light in it). Paint a red stripe around the top, white in the middle & blue at the bottom. Then get a pencil ✏️ and use the eraser side to smear the paint around just enough to add a touch of YOU to them (u might need to do a bit of smearing before the paint dries). Put'm in front of a fan to dry faster. Since you're gonna smear the paint, it doesn't have to be perfect stripes. When you get to friends house & it gets dark, plop your tea lights in. Viola! Quick, cheap & easy...

your local dollar store should carry bunting, paper lanterns, balloons, etc that can be used for decorations. Also you could paint mason jars or cans red ,white n blue after you put candles or battery operated lights in them. Mason jars n cans also make cute utensil holders for BBQs. Use ribbons to weave thru a wreath form to make an American flag to hang on the door. Have fun!
