I have used old jewellery to make new. If you have a beaded necklace, then you can take it apart and with some new jewellery findings, you can make earrings, keyrings, new style necklaces combined with other beads.
You can use to decorate fabric flower brooch. Make a simple brooch out of fabric, then use beads or broken earring for the centre.
You can use jewellery to decorate mirrors or frames.
Add beads to light pull cords to make a unique feature.
I once made a beaded curtain, it took lots of beads bought from charity shops. It was treated on to fishing wire. Then fixed to a piece of wood.
You can also decorate box kids, and make a useful box for your dressing table.
Hope you find something here that you would like to do.
I made some ornaments from thrift store jewelry. It's a great way to repurpose! Hope you enjoy and happy crafting.

I think they make gorgeous trees framed. Get a frame at the Dollar store and spray paint it gold, silver or whatever you like best, use a dark or black background and lay the jewelry on it to form a Christmas tree. The final effect can be gorgeous and this is so easy and inexpensive a project you can sit with your mom and visit while you do this. Use a good glue to attach them like Aileenes Tacky glue or E6000 glue. Here is one photo for an example of what I mean. Use your imagination and have fun!
Depending on the size of the jewelry, you might use clear thread or fishing line to tie the pieces onto your tree. Another option is to draw the outsidelinesof a tree within a frame onto a piece of colored paper and back it with cardboard, then place the jewelry pieces onto the design using hot glue. Using a shadow-type frame would allow for the depth of the jewelry pieces. Could be saved and used year after year.
