Take bulbs out of the extra on the string. Takes thought, planning, focus and patience. Do you have a friend to help you out?
I measure first. If there is a little extra I drape slightly rather than having exactly straight. I've made a loop in the middle like a wreath or wrapped a bit on each end.
Naomie's suggest of removing bulbs is good if you have the type of lights that can have bulbs removed, I use rope lights so that doesn't work for me.
Hello, Find the middle of where you want to hang lights and put pencil mark or other marker. Find the middle of your string of lights. Put middle to middle and then drape the same on each side till the end is reached. Hope that is of help.
I agree. Drape more to distribute them evenly.
We have purchased net lights in the past few years. They take the guesswork out of how many strings you need and they are distributed evenly. You just lay them on the bushes...hedges or round.
