Hi Nancy, I recently saw a post on Home Talk where a home owner made a DIY bed skirt using Velcro, glue, and a drop cloth. She cut the drop cloth in the same dimensions of her bed. Leaving the edges to be used as hems. Then she glued velcro on to the sides of her box spring. She glued the corresponding velcro on to the drop cloth. Easy on/off for laundry.
This is sew (sorry) so easy! Cut your fabric the length you want and do a little hem on the bottom. Making folds every few inches, staple into the fold and go all the way around. Lay your mattress back on top and you have what appears to be a bed skirt. I've done it many times.
