Hi Nommie. I'm Cindy. If you want to re-silver an antique mirror, you will need to remove it from its frame, strip it down to plain glass and clean the old glass well. You can use Multi-Strip and a plastic scraper to remove the backing paint. Then use Mirror Remover and cotton balls to dissolve the silver and copper. Then use a silvering kit to resilver the glass. And, lastly, replace the frame. Good luck Nommie. Be well.

I have tried this many times and done a fair amount of research and I don't believe you can by yourself. I have done a few repairs using the mirror effect spray which is only good for small touch ups.
