Hi Vinyadas, here's a link about "wood" veneer, but in general a veneer is any thin surface applied to another object.....so their are veneer ovrlays in denistry used for teeth to make them look prettier.

In layman's terms, it is a thin covering to give an object a different appearance. It is normally wood on furniture but the term also applies to many other things. I think someone mentioned dentistry which is the 2nd thing I think of because of friend of mine had healthy but gapped teeth. She had veneers put on all but her molars.
