With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to share this very quick and easy craft to make. Now I don’t know about you but I love upcycling the spaghetti jars. But a Mason jar will work also.
The first thing to do is to remove the label if you are using a spaghetti jar.  I soak the jar in soapy water overnight.  The label usually falls off.  To remove any of the sticky glue, use a paper towel with alcohol.  You may need to get the big guns out and use Goof Off.  Then wash and dry the jar.
After the jar is squeaky clean and dry select a bright color of spray paint.  I used this pretty beachy blue.  Place the mouth of the jar on a surface and start spraying.  When it is thoroughly covered and dry turn right side up and finish painting.  Spray paint the top also, both sides.
While the jar is drying find a pretty fabric that coordinates with the paint color.  Brush on Mod Podge on one side.  After it dries do the other side.   I have a Cuddle Bug with the flower die.  If you don’t have one you can always hot glue silk flowers on the jar.  I cut out the parts for 6 flowers.
Using embroidery floss I sewed the flower parts together and added a “jewel” for the center of the flower. Hot glue one flower on the lid.  Take the remaining flowers and hot glue them around the jar in a flowing pattern.
The final step is to fill the jar with Mom’s favorite wrapped candy.  Give her a beautiful card and a big kiss.
