My Recycled Mirror
by
Kylie Barlow Smyth
(IC: homeowner)
I started off with a free mirror, some scrap pieces of pallet timber, a scrap piece of marine ply and glue.
I put all the pieces of pallet into the vice and broke each piece to length using a hammer and then squared of the one end using my drop saw.
After getting all my pieces together I then just started planning how it would look, like a big jigsaw puzzle. I then glued the mirror to the backboard and stuck all the timber to the mirror.
Once it was all dry I waxed each piece and let dry. Voila a gorgeous mirror! I still have yet to put on the rope to hang it which will be a beautiful chunky sisal.

Lori Vicknair on Apr 22, 2015Great idea! I picked up a huge broken bathroom mirror that is cracked almost precisely in half and now I know what to do with it. Thanks for your post!
