This project begins with a small Nestle Nesquik Chocolate drink canister. I had been using it in my craft room to hold scissors. I had previously gotten the label off it. This is what it looked like before I got started.

I then started hot gluing 6 inch wooden dowels from the Dollar Tree. I had purchased 4 packs of 12 inch dowels and cut them In half. There were 10 dowels per package. I used 62 of the dowels. I hot glued them side by side around the entire canister.

I then used Dark Walnut Minwax Stain on the dowels and let them dry. I used one row of a remnant of jute rope around the bottom of the canister and two rows around the top. I arranged some Dollar tree small puffy ball florals in this canister. Here is what it looks like finished.

I think it coordinates well with another Hometalk project and painting in an upstairs bedroom.

Let me know what you think. Would love for you Hometalkers to check out my other projects and see what I have done with more unusual items.
