Has anyone used old dress patterns as wallpaper?

Have you considered Mod Podge? Maybe others who have more skill and practice at covering walls would have a better way to attach them. I'd do one at a time and let it dry then see how it went before trying another one.

What a great idea and I think it would look very pretty. I would choose an accent wall and do that first as it might be overwhelming if you did the entire room. I donated all my old patterns after my mom passed and now I am sorry, the prices these days are outrageous! Buttermilk, McCall's and Simplicity patterns were 75 cents to $3.00 and Vogue had the expensive ones at $5.00 and up - back then . . . (I made $2.65 an hour at that time.) Thanks for the memories!

Have you thought of framing them, rather than using them for wallpaper? I can't help but think of the work it would be to remove the patterns from the wall if they were glued on.

Oh, I love this idea! Here is one of my decoupage pieces done with patterns. I always use Elmers. As you see when the pattern pieces overlap, they appear much darker. My Daughter is the costumer for the h.s. plays in her town (they have a big budget!) she is the only person I know who sews anymore! I find patterns at our swap shop and take them. . . mostly for projects like yours. It is very easy to do this, but I would probably put the glue on the wall rather than handle a wet large piece of tissue paper. If something doesn't work just wash it off and start again, but make sure that you have enough to cover the wall to begin with. It will be adorable. Probably best to press them first too.
