Sold my house. Now I'm renting. Was told DO NOT HANG ANYTHING. Help.

Command hooks to the rescue!

Ask the landlord if you could hang pictures using command hooks they are easy to remove and don't leave a mark.

If you have book shelves, end tables, etc, you can put pictures on the top of the shelves and lean them against the wall. If you do this, make sure there is something soft on the back of the frame so it doesn't scratch the wall.

There are Command strips for hanging almost anything without damaging a wall. I love the picture hangers even though I own my home. That way, if I want to rearrange or move something, I don't damage the wall.

Command hooks, they just peel off when your done.

I went from renting to purchasing an adobe house. I hear you! It's very hard to put a nail into adobe as it usually just shatters the wall, and the command strips require a smoother surface than what I have. I use tall bookcases to display things that I enjoy, instead of filling them with books, which I also enjoy on the lower shelves. I painted a small table bright yellow, and use other pops of color to decorate. If the windows have the possibility of valance rods, you can hang interesting curtains to draw the eye away from blank walls. I have also used vinyl words, which cling nicely to the uneven surface. I think you would enjoy those. They are very reasonable on www.wish.com. Get an extra one to practice with, since it isn't hard, but if you're like me, you may not get it right the first try. I don't know if I should admit it, but when I was renting, I did use sewing pins to hang a few light items. When you pull them out, you can just squish over the tiny hole with your finger and it disappears. My house did come with a few nails, which I suspect were installed before the mud dried, so I have a few things up, but for the most part, I have to be creative. You've got this!
