Using Norman Rockwell Plates

Question

I have sets of Norman Rockwell Plates and no one seems to want them. There doesn't seem to be a resale market for them, so I thought maybe I could make them usable. Is it possible to coat the plate with some product that would make it food safe? Or does anyone know of another use for NR pieces?

Could you get plate hangers and hang them up to display them?

Nothing you coat them with will be food safe. All you can do is display them. They were collectible about 20+ years ago. Now I see them and other collector plates in thrift stores for under $!.

I have several that belonged to my mother. I use plate holders and hang on wall. I have some hanging about mirrors, above doorways, in grouping with other items. If you really don't wish to keep them you could donate to a ministry, Goodwill, or Salvation Army.

I looked, but they aren't selling. I thought I could create a secondary market if I could figure out a way to make them useful. I think I will store them for now. Eventually, they'll come back in style.
