Thrift Store Lamp Gets a Makeover :)

We were looking for some lamps for our night stands for a long time, but whatever we liked was way too expensive. Yesterday we decided to go to a flea market hoping to find something, but no luck (we got cool vintage books though :)) On the way back home we noticed a small thrift store and we decided to stop there and check it out. We found two lamps in a pretty bad shape- old brass and glass. The lady who worked there said she will sell these lamps for a dollar each. Great deal, right? We got a couple of other things and when we were about to check out, she said " cash only." We spent our cash at the flea market and we could only use a card. Then she said "how much change you have in your wallet?" And this is how we got these lamps for 30 cents each :)
We got lamp shades at another thrift store for a dollar each. I decided to use scrapbook paper to cover the shades. I used a circle hole puncher I got years ago ( from a thrift store of course). Every circle was glued to the shade using hot glue. My husband took each lamp apart and I painted it using blue and brown chalk paints. We love how it turned out.
We put one lamp on our hallway table to take a picture and we really liked how it looked there. So a search for new night stand lamps continues :)
lamp shade before, scrapbook paper I chose, circle hole puncher.
We decided to keep the glass the way it was, but at first we thought about painting it.

Look just beautiful. Nice job and such a bargain. I have a couple of crystal accent lamps in my bedroom with that bright brass, Now I am inspired to go and get some of that chalk paint and tone em down a bit...that brass is so dated and ugly looking. Good luck in your search for night stand lamps.
