How to Hang a DIY Boxwood Accent Wall

2 Materials

Want to add a look of greenery and texture to your home without the upkeep of a live plant wall? Here is how I added a boxwood panel accent wall behind my TV! See this project and tons more DIYs on my blog.

See the whole project in this YouTube video!

This is what the wall behind our TV looked like. There is an outlet for a TV and a giant hole with tubes for wires to run down below. We didn't want to wall mount our TV and this was just on display so we decide to cover it with boxwood paneling.

Hang nails for the panels to hang on. Start in a top corner. We did 2 nails per panel. Use a level to get it straight. Hang the loops of the panel on the nails and continue to get a straight line of panels. Once you get a full row, move down and keep adding rows until it is finished.

Use the hook and loop closures on the panels to connect them. They snap together easily, just be sure you hang them so the hooks and loops match up to connect.

You can use scissors to cut pieces if you just need a non-full sheet. Just be VERY careful because you need to be sure you leave the right connectors. 2 sides are hooks and 2 sides are loops. Line it up with the mounted pieces and be sure that you have it turned in the right direction.

Our panels were puckering in some places so we added a few nails through the plastic to hold it taught to the wall.

Here's how the wall looked complete!

And here it is with our TV back in place.

How in the world did you get hubby to do all the grunt work? That to me sounds harder than the project.

I took a chance and painted the area behind the TV black! It made the TV diapear when it is off and more comfortable on the eyes when the TV is on. We both love it!😀
