Old Screen Door Chalkboard Memo Board

A neighbor was replacing his screen door and he was getting rid of his old door. He knows I will take anything, so he offered me his old door.
This is the pretty "after" of the old screen door repurposed into a memo board-great for busy families!
A free screen door from the neighbor? heck yeah! I'll take that.

This is how the project started. It almost went wrong with paint color, but I was able to pull it off in the end. :)
One family member told me "it looks like algae threw up on it". Ohhh, okay, let's try something different.
I mixed up some diy chalky paint primer . . .
. . . then I did a quick few coats with my very worn and well loved Finish Max from Homeright.
THE best way to get an extra smooth chalkboard finish is with RUST-OLEUM chalkboard paint and a Finish Max!
Beautiful!
