Women in our area redo their hardwood floors, Patricia. If you are physically active maybe you would consider it too. Do you need to sand and resurface them or lay new wood floors?   Thank you for response. I need to sand and resurface, my home is an older home and the floor was actually laid piece by piece, the wood is about 18 inches long and an 1-1 1/2 inch wide, a lot of people I have asked are afraid to do it amd I don't know why.

You can rent floor sanders from your local hardware store. Sanding them down yourself will save you money but might take a while and then you can stain them.
