If it's only 1/4" I wouldn't worry about it.
Get a saddle from Home Depot/Lowe's. Use a neutral color that blends with whichever color is in the more used room. Use shims on the lower side to make the saddle level. If you cannot hide the floor height difference, celebrate it!!
You need to go to a flooring store and show them what you have going on and they can show you the right transition piece to install.
You can buy a wooden or metal transition strip at most home supply stores. You can stain the wood to match the wooden floor
The Tile and Wood people should have the transitioning piece available for you to order. They don't make that known for some reason. But you will want the trans. -piece to be of the same wood as the wood floor. Hope this helps ET
