How hard is it to lay a tile floor that isn't sealed?
We pulled up old carpet and now get mildew on anything that sits on the cement floor. We would like to put tile in there but don't know if we need to seal the floor first. Is there a paint that can be used to seal the floor?

Caroline.... There are many concrete sealers but you may need to talk to someone who has more knowledge that I have concerning what would be best for you. Lowe's and Home Depot would be a good start. Good luck with this project and I do believe they can help you with this issue.
Caroline Hello, You have to scrub the floor, with a deck brush, buy at a hardware store. Mix 50/50 bleach and water. Spray off with the hose to clean the cement. Let it dry COMPLETLY. You need insulation, then plywood. Cover with 12x12 tiles. Their easy to put down, and don't cost a fortune. They run $.99-$,5.00 a tile. A box of 20 @,.99 is $20. They have arrows on the bottom, to show you how to lay them down. Measure the room, take it to the store and they will tell you how many boxes you'll need. Make sure all of the boxes have the same lot #, this is important. Next make sure you get an extra box for furture repairs. Good Luck !
See I'd this helps you out!
