How do I get my perennials to grow back?

What happened to them? Did they not come back this year or last year. They could have froze with the weird weather we have had with the freezes down south, or perhaps one of the underground critters ate the roots or bulbs. I know that I lost a lot of tulip bulbs that never came up last year, I dug down where a few of them were planted to see if they titter or what and there was no sign that there was even a bulb down there. If it isn't warm enough yet for the soil to warm up consistently, I would wait a while and see if they come back.
They should return each year. Continue to care for them with fertilizer, feed, and watering.
They do it naturally.
Tulips seldom come back---they are planted every year in my zone 7-8
Call or visit your local nursery to get more information for your area and project. Some perennials are "tender" and a harsh winter will kill them off. Or rabbit and squirrels got to the bulbs.
What zone are you in? Could they have frozen over? With the wacky weather, anything is possible. Contact your local Ag Extension for best localized suggestions.
They didn't come back. I had azalea and rose bushes that didn't come back as well as other perennials. We did have a harsh winter and soggy spring.
