Cathy..Try a raised bed using treated wood or railroad ties or landscaping timbers. You can also buy different edging for Lowe's or Home Depot that work really well. Good luck, hope you find something you like.

Planters are another alternative, flowerung ones are quite appealing-some people dislike bees ( insects) in particular and the effort that gardening requires.

Also, dont dig your yard...cover the area you want to use with a sheet of landscape cloth then 4 or 5 layers of newspaper weighed down with stone. Then make rhe raised bed area with the added soil. If you dig you will unearth weed seed that will continually grow in your flowers. This way it will kill the weeds before they can sprout.
