I've seen lots of bamboo barrels at Chinese restaurants, inside and out. I have some experience with getting rid of bamboo 😂 Try to buy your original shoots from an established nursery. You can ask specific questions about soil, insects, and care. Keeping the bamboo manageable once your plant is growing well is as easy as this: pull up any new shoots and throw them away--not in the yard! If any of the grown bamboo gets too fat of tall, cut that stalk down at ground level. One note: put the barrels on wheels, and have drainage holes at the bottom. Best wishes 😇
Beware.Bamboo is a weed in some states. It is very invasive and very hard to kill. In ten years you will have a thicket. Don't know about a barrel.
whenever you confine a plant, it becomes necessary to cut back the root system. possibly every year if it is a fast grower. make sure you will be able to do that.
You should be able to grow it but will prob have to prune it
Thank you all for the input! I found a bamboo nursery near by, will pay them a visit soon !
