I want to use Epsom Salt next year on my plants, what type should I use, and how do I use it? Can I use it on a tree that is 15 yrs old?
Edit: Final Question: Can I use the same Epsom Salt used in a bath that is unscented?

Hi Mo. Mix 2 tablespoons of Epson Salt in a gallon of water. Put this mixture in a spray bottle Mist your plants once a month. For more frequent watering, every other week, cut it back to 1 tablespoon mixed in a gallon of water. Epson Salt will put enzymes in the soil and plants thrive with it. Use on flowers or vegetables. And yes, you can absolutely use it on your tree. Just sprinkle this mixture on the soil instead of spraying.

Hi Mo, Epsom salts can do wonders for your garden only if there is a magnesium deficiency in the soil. I know a lot of people swear by the benefits of Epsom salts but we avoid it in our garden. The only time we would use it is to kill off tree stumps. Maybe get a soil test done at your local nursery first
Use plain Epsom Salt, not the scented kind. I put about 1 T in the ground with new plants and they do well with a good start., then water.ES is magnesium sulfate, a valuable nutrient for plants.
Br careful to not get it on the plant, it can burn.
If you prefer to spray it, use 1 T/gallon of water once a month.
