I have this too! I don't recall what the name of it is but I have eaten the leaves...until someone told me it's poisonous ;-) But I doubt that it is. It has a sort of celery taste to me. It grows like crazy and either seeds itself or sends out shoots underground (don't really know which) so it can become invasive. It does lend a pretty plant to the landscape though :-)

It looks from the picture to be either lovage or hyssop. Both grow to about 6 ft and are perennial herbs. You can use the young leaves in salads; the stalks as straws:)).
