They are beautiful! I would leave them alone, and wait for first buds. I pruned mine in February, they filled out and had my first blooms by Easter.Helpful Reply -

When it comes to pruning, I use the Old Farmer's Method: From Spring thru Fall, only prune during months that have a "R" in their name. For example, you can prune in April, but not in May. May does not contain a R. I like this method because it is easy to remember. So, with that being said, you could prune that rose bush within the next week. I think that application of fertilizer did it's job.Helpful Reply -

Did you use any other fertilizer besides the rose food? Was it, perhaps, an area that used to be grass and received lawn fertilizer? Usually overgrown greenery results from too much nitrogen in the soil, which could result from fertilizer not meant for flowering shrubs (which usually require more phosphorus.). As others suggested, give it some time. If you still don't get flowers, try using a "triple phosphate" fertilizer.Helpful Reply -

yOU ARE FEEDING IT 'foliage fertilizer" Use a rose fertilizer or a fertilizer with a HIGH middle number. (like 12-50-10) Middle number determines the budding of flowers.Helpful Reply -

Yes to those who say your previous fertilization has too much nitrogen to produce anything but all of that healthy foliage. What you need now is to fertilize with a rose food specifically labeled to produce "flowering". Good luck!Helpful Reply -
