What causes strawberries to split in the center from bottom up?

The strawberries look like siamese twins. Connected at the top but when you hold it up & look at it you can see all inside it . The guts of the berry seem to be missing from the inside. We have had almost constant rain for at least 3wks or longer here. Heavy Rain. Everything is flooded & I suspect that is likely the root of the problem but is there anything that can be done to fix this problem? Any help or ideas appreciated.

Too much water. Tomatoes split on the tops From too much water.
