When do you trim azalea bushes back?

    immediately after flowering is finished

    Should be trimmed as soon as they finish blooming, late spring or early summer for most areas. Will tolerate later trimming but may not bloom the following spring as buds are set by fall for the next seasons bloom.

    I just prune mine to shape and remove any new tall shoots. Mine is trained into a hedge along my drive. Weirdly its in bloom right now... in Jan. Huh?
