How do I care for my Yucca plant?

Ever since I chopped off a too tall branch off my old yucca tree it has been growing but it “weeps” this sticky stuff that sprays everywhere! Any ideas how to stop this?

Hi there, I think "Pruning Sealer" would be the ticket to fix your problem. It can also be "Tree Wound". Basically its just a liquid band-aide for plants lol.

it's crying cause you chopped it's head off!!--Just kidding; you can seal the raw edge with non toxic organic paint but "Don't use actually tree sealer products they trap moisture and cause fungus &/or can make stalk rot".I let mine heal naturally and just wrap them lightly with gauze,or lay a piece of gauze over top of cut part to absorb sap, if you don't want it white dip it in a tea/coffee bath to darken it . It'll stop seeping when it heals itself then remove gauze. You should keep pinching new growth that I see around the top so it will send out new growth down lower on stalk or it will become very top heavy & break. Use really sharp razor blade and cut them off. Wherever you see small green new nodule(new tip)starting that you don't want just rub it off with your finger/fingernail(do it when they are new small they won't seep like a major cut)so you can train it to grow them down farther. Did you put part you cut off in dirt so it will begin to grow? Just stick it in soil at base of your plant, don't water too much. or start in new pot. Your plants look very healthy,1/4 turn of pot each week will keep them from leaning towards light they will grow nice & straight. #1 house plant killer is overwatering. If you leave Yucca in pot root bound and good sunny location they will eventually bloom, however they send bloom straight out of end of stalk means no pruning/trimming/topping them off. https://laidbackgardener.blog/2016/07/20/why-wont-my-yucca-bloom/
latex paint, never oil based
it could be 'honeydew' from insects? are you sure there are no aphids or scale, spider mites or other creepy crawlies https://web.extension.illinois.edu/cfiv/homeowners/100202.html

Good luck and hopefully the information we have all sent will help you.
This is a Dracena, not a Yucca. The common name is ‘corn plant’
Use bees wax
Use whatever you want, you can’t kill that plant no matter what! It survives EVERYTHING!
Don't EVER plant it outside. You can NEVER get rid of it!!!! The roots are very damaging to everything in it's path! You can chop the roots in half and to no avail they grow back. Awful plant.
