I think starting with the paint, cushions, curtains, etc. is good, you might decide it gives enough of a lift before doing other projects like flooring.

Having spent three months between homes in a 5th wheel I can sympathize. Since the biggest part of the camper is the living/dining/kitchen areas I'd suggest painting the cabinets (and any other wooden paneled surfaces) rather than painting the walls. Getting rid of all that dark wood will brighten it up and make it feel bigger. A light color - white, light grey, beige, etc - will help make use of what light does come through the windows and makes a huge difference. Do a Google image search for "painted camper cabinets" for some examples and I think you'll see what I mean.
I agree! Light colors on the walls and flooring and some cheery yellow curtains would brighten it up well! Also, bring in the outdoors with some plants or flowers. This is a good way to make it feel like home!

When you do a remodel pay attention to the weight factor..you want the rig to be balanced.
First of all, get rid of any old textiles. They hold odor and dust. We made repairs first so that all systems were functioning properly and then put down new engineered hardwood flooring throughout. Even though you have a budget, don't skimp on quality. Either wait for the right product to come along discounted or save up more money. It takes so little material in a camper. We've been converting one to a Tiny House for some time now, so feel free to ask me specific questions.
