Usually , if you're going to upgrade your home, the kitchen and master bath are where you want to spend . Before putting it on the market though , make sure to give the entire house a thorough cleaning and maybe a fresh coat of paint if needed.

First comment is very good. Beyond that pack up your personal stuff to decluter the space. Remove personal pictures etc. You want them to see open spaces and you want them to imagine their personal stuff there. The old saying to go all white for neutral is not allways the best. Add a bold accent wall here or there. What that does is stand out in their minds to remember the house by. They will usually see several houses that day. After a while they all start to blend together. Something about your stand out. Hope this helps when you are ready to sell.

Also, remember it is your front door and entrance they see first and last. Make it clean and inviting but not overdone or seasonally decorated. Also, open ventilating windows and potpourri are best to keep house smelling nice.

Clean, bright, and everything in perfect working order.

So often people put tons of money into trying to quickly update their homes with current trends, thinking that it will sell faster or they will get more money when it sells. However, In order for your house to be presented in a most positive way, it is not always necessary to spend this great deal of money just to get it to sell.

Nothing can beat a home being clean, shiny and fresh smelling (clutter free surfaces, clean fan grills, clean closets, etc. etc.) bright (new light bulbs, clean windows) and everything, every cabinet door, every toilet lid, every window blind, etc. working properly.
