How to Line Drawers With Paper
It's so hard to pass up a roll of pretty wrapping paper. Lately, I've been using them to line drawers in furniture. It's such a pretty detail and I love to add it to the pieces that I sell.
I normally buy my pretty papers at Home Goods. Look for thick paper without glitter for the best results.
Clean your drawers thoroughly. I typically vacuum them and wipe them out as well.
Measure the width and length for each drawer. Older pieces will have different measurements for every drawer, so I measure all of them.
Flip the paper over and make marks that correspond to the measurements.
Use a yard stick to draw the lines connecting the measurements.
Cut the paper along the lines.
Place the paper in the drawer and make sure that it fits. If not, use a pencil to mark where it needs to be trimmed and cut those areas.
Apply glue along the edges of the drawers.
Place the paper in the drawer and weight it down if needed. I used some heavy marble coasters for this drawer.
Let it dry and you have yourself some lovely, lined drawers!
