Ever find a stool or small piece of furniture that needs new fabric? We see them everywhere!

And the costs to recover can creep up. Buying new materials to stuff...and padding...and then the how-to part comes in!

Let me show you an easy way to cheat! First up find a project! I found this stool for $4.99 at a thrift store.

We want to help you DIY, so some of the materials in this post are linked to sellers. Just so you know, Hometalk may collect a small share of sales from the links on this page.
I ripped off all the padding down to the bare wood. That old stuffing was gross! Time for new! But I knew I needed to paint it as well. Enter Junk Monkey Paint! No priming, no sanding, no stripping! Easy peasy and affordable!
I used Vintage White, painted it, and used a sandpad to distress.
Let it dry! Now time to go hunting for a fluffy pillow you like! I loved these from Walmart and totally in my budget!
Cut your pillow open. Turn your stool upside down and place in the opening. Staple gun it on. All the staples hide on the underside. And voila!
All the cushioning I needed was inside! All new material. I didn't have to buy any extra! Or have any left over! Winning!:)
