Paint stick counter top and back splash takes time and layering but worth it. Took old Formica out. Cut paint sticks ( thinner ones work best). Laid down like a puzzle. Wood glued each. Let sit 12 hrs. Sanded. Stained with 3 different kinds in odd rows and blended. Polly 2x's. Back splash the same steps but painted white ( hint use mini staples to keep up on black splash. To finish up painted cabinets white whisper and replaced all the hardware. Total cost under $75 including stain, wood glue and box paint sticks.
Pulled off old Formica and sanded off old glue.
