Giani makes a DIY product for making your laminate countertop look like granite, and, yes, you can always paint cabinets. Just be sure to prep them well.Helpful Reply -

Here is a tutorial on painting counter tops, we are getting ready to try it on a peninsula we have, just to see if we like it enough to keep the counter tops or replace them. https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/how-to-paint-laminate-kitchen-countertops-apartment-therapy-tutorials-217480As for painting cabinets, take the doors off, clean well, lightly sand, prime, then paint with an enamel based paint, specifically one made to paint cabinets. Its all a little time consuming, but way cheaper than replacing everything.Helpful Reply -

cover it in tile that gives you the look you want then seal it with a liquid plastic or aproxy just make sure you let it dry and set before usingHelpful Reply -

If asiest cost effective is to go to a Home Depot/Lowes or hardware store,they have these counter make over kits that look like granite,they're awesome(I worked at a Lowes) takes the guess work out& very cost effective.Helpful Reply- See 1 previous
