How to prep for Installing subway tile over OSB on a backsplash?

When I removed the Formica from my backsplash, the wall was OSB.
Thinset adhesives say tiling over OSB is not recommended.
What can I do to prepare the OSB so I can install tile?

Install a 1/4 in tile backer (made of a cement composit) like "Hardy Backer" ... then tile.
We had to move the electrical box slightly forward to bring the outlet cover to the outside of the tile (they screw or nail onto a wall stud and can be moved.
There is actually a new product that is a roll. Marty is right, no matter what you use you will need to pull your plugs out further. There are extenders to use. Hope these help.
