How to prep for Installing subway tile over OSB on a backsplash?

When I removed the Formica from my backsplash, the wall was OSB.
Thinset adhesives say tiling over OSB is not recommended.
What can I do to prepare the OSB so I can install tile?

Install a 1/4 in tile backer (made of a cement composit) like "Hardy Backer" ... then tile. -

We had to move the electrical box slightly forward to bring the outlet cover to the outside of the tile (they screw or nail onto a wall stud and can be moved. -

There is actually a new product that is a roll. Marty is right, no matter what you use you will need to pull your plugs out further. There are extenders to use.
