  • My solution is always to put a potted plant in front of it, maybe a grouping of 3 with different size pots. If you get good sun, geraniums are easy to grow!

    Don’t disguise. Redirect attention.
A couple of pots of real or faux tall grasses.
If close to your barbecue, Command hook (exterior) bbq essentials.
Trellis (sun available) climbing plants which can later be transplanted to your garden then moved back to the deck in spring
You can paint the vent (heatproof paint) then have fun. Depending on your siding, and light, you could even do small baskets of herbs (max weight outdoor Command hooks seems to be 5lbs

Plants, as Anita said, or a wall hanging that fits the theme of your deck: anchor, sunflower, barbeque or sundial. Affix 1" blocks to the back of the hanging to keep it away from the surface of the wall over your vent.
