I need to put nail polish in a different container

Please help me out here guys &gals! I've been doing a lot of marbling with nail polish in water lately & it doesn't give enough time to make a good design, I need to shed some seconds off& I got these little plastic squeeze bottles. I think it will make everything a little faster. Question is, can i put my polish in these bottles or will it dry them out somehow? Or will it just stick? Any insight is appreciated! Thanks everyone!

I think if you use them just for the purpose of creating your designs it will be fine.
You idea should work fine, however I would suggest that whatever container you store the nial polish in be stored upside down with the closing closed firmly of course! The marbling is great fun!
As long as the containers have a good air tight seal it should be okay to hold nail polish.
A little chemistry for you:
The solvent used to produce nail polish would soften most types of polymer bottle and customers would not be able to see the colour of the nail polish through an aluminium version. Glass is both the traditional material for the job as well as being the best and cheapest.
The primary ingredient of nail polish is nitro cellulose dissolved in a mixture of various solvents including naphtha, xylene, toluene, acetone, various ketones, and others.
Solvents, particularly the low molecular weight components of hydrocarbons tend to diffuse into and through the walls of plastic bottles causing them to weaken and potentially leak.

As long as there isn't a lot of air in the bottle and it has a lid, it shouldn't dry out.
why not pull the top off the nail polish bottles and just add it to the water like that it would give you a bigger opening or you could by some cheap funnels and empty the bottles that way too - it will dry out in plastic bottles and a lot of trouble to transfer it to another bottle.
Hello, you're better off to keep it in the glass, it will last without drying out MUCH longer,
You can for a short time. If it is an oil based polish it will eat thru the plastic.
Hi Erica: Well, the quick answer would be to work faster :) I wouldn't transfer the polish to another container. You need as little air on the polish as possible, or it will dry out. When you pour the polish out, you don't have to screw the cap back on completely, but setting it on top of the bottle securely should be o.k. Also, you might thin the polish a bit using an acetone fingernail polish remover. The NON acetone remover won't work well. What is it you're marbling, your nails or something else? I'm not understanding how it can dry in water. Here are some sites that may shed some light on your problem:

I would love to know how you did this. I want to try the marbling effect on white candles using my accent color as the dipping color.

Such a lovely creative process. I’m not sure I would change containers. You would be interested to see your ear and losing nail lacquer product. You just probably need to work more quickly.

Additionally I have used the solvent into thin my nail polish -as its aged—-I wonder if that would be a consideration to think about to make the polish slightly less viscous and adaptable for this stunning marbling process. I am reviving stored nail polish more than 6 years old quite successfully.
Plastic bottles won’t work.
Yes, thin your nail polishes. 91% isopropyl alcohol is recommended. Just 2-3 drops.
Or you can buy Polish Thinner.
It will dry out but you could put plastic wrap on the top of the bottle then put cap back before you put it away
