use a piece of string 3 feet long, secure one end in the center of the circle and tie a stake that the other end to scrape the ground as you walk around the center in a circle. then you will have an outline to lay the pavers.
Hello Sd; If I were doing this, I would go to Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Etc.
I would purchase pavers and inexpensive squares.
I would then measure 6 feet out from the Fire pit.
I would cover the ground with heavy plastic, or else newspaper.
I would purchase small pebbles, and place over the plastic.
I would then add the pavers and square tiles.
I hope that this helps you!!!! Have fun with your Fire pit! Take Care!
There are curved pavers at Lowe's . We just got some to go around our fountain . We laid them all out on the ground at the store to make sure that was the look I wanted and that we would have enough to finish the job before we started putting them on the cart.
To create a perfect circle, find the midpoint of the firepit and put a stake in. Tie a string to the stake with the 6' mark indicated on the string. Extend the string out and mark where 6' falls on the ground with chalk spray paint (used for baseball, etc.) Now you have a perfectly round circle with 6' radius all around.
From here you can lay landscape barrier if you wish or just proceed with leveling the area with sand and laying your paving stones. Be sure to use a level on each stone to keep the paved area flat.
