Hedges would be very nice. I also like Emerald Green Abbreviates. They do get taller but create lots of privacy.

mini roses make a beautiful low hedge divider, my best friend put in flat stacking stones, filled with planting soil, and planted peonies in the divider. If it is a shady area most the day you could use hostas. We also made a planter on the other side and planted with petunias every year and mulched good. They spread all over the planter. Our neighbor up the street built a stone rectangle and planted flowers that require low watering and grasses. It looks really nice.

I had a problem where my neighbors build a deck and put nothing but junk under it. I could see it all from my back yard and it looked terrible! I bought some pvc lattice panels and cable tied them to my existing chain link fence. It made all the difference and I enjoy my space without having to look at junk! I used pvc and it's lasted 6 years so far... I had to replace some of my cable ties this year but it still looks great. Hope this helps or sparks an idea for you. :)

Yep did the same thing with my neighbors junk pile, and the resin lattice has been on there 15 years.

Yes a low hedge, Evergreen -Flowering or not is one idea although you will not be able to cut the hedge their side and this could worry you in future. Possibly Low Fence, but you would also have the same maintenance problem.. Maybe long term solution might be a wall of some kind, in front of which you could grow what you like with out any problem.

A low hedge is a great idea. Use something that is evergreen so it will look good all year, and preferably something that does not get too tall or it will be a maintenance nightmare.

There are some lovely evergreen shrubs that also come in colors. Flowering bushes like Forsythia are lovely and easy to trim.

Laurel hedges grow nice and fast, and you can let them grow as high as you like.

Hello Nanz; if I had your issue, I would definitely consider getting plants to create a hedge with. I would do this in two stages, as I would plant a larger shrub, close to the fence, and then I would place a Flowering plant in front of that.

Your hedges would be Beautiful and would detract from your neighbors yard.

I hope that this idea help you!!! Take Care!

wild flowers with higher flowers toward the area which is not maintained can block an eyesore and yet decease issues with neighbors

Try Burwood, holly bushes or heavenly bamboo which can all be kept trimmed low and are all really tolerant.
