How do you create smooth slope downward in backyard?
Backyard, uneven, and want to create a pea gravel cover for my dogs. How do I insure I slope it correctly so water
will flow away from house.
Thank you
Sharon

You need to dig to make the uneven ground even, Sharon. Some of that soil may need to be moved closer to the house to make a grade that is 6 inches over 10 feet.
Thanks Ann appreciate input
The minimum slope that I recommend is two percent, or 1/4 inch per foot. As an example, the grade at a spot four feet away from your house should be one inch lower than the grade next to your house. This will do for most houses with soil that will absorb water readily.
Lynn,
