Last minute space fill need.outdoor, decoration
I am making two hanging signs as a wedding present with date, etc. Im running out of time and decided to use an old metal porch swing base as a hanger( along with chimes, maybe plants. The bottom legs create a big deep vacant spot and could use ideas what to do with it. I thought maybe simple outdoor storage box, or planters or even bbq station of sorts.if nothing else i will put lil solar lights on the legs to point at the sign at night.also im making the signs to be hung wherever they want but wanted a stand for at wedding to suprise them but if its something they like then all the better.low budget and limited tools( dremils sanders router). Thanks for any ideas.the signs will hang down from top cross bar at a total of 23 inches

I’d do some big planters with flowers
Hang something on there like a Hawaiian skirt but in white maybe a bell and people could ring to wish them good luck.
Solar string lights would be a great way to dress it up to. I would definitely paint the base in at least one of their wedding colors. You could wrap it in tule to help cover it up as well.
Potted plants and weave some solar string lights around the pots.
My first thought would be to make a simple wood seat using the horizontal part of the arm (?) as the base support. It could be just a crate-like wood box to fit over the metal for just one person's tushie or (depending on if you've got the time) add a seat back using the curve of the upward portion of that arm (?) as the shape. If you choose to do a simple seat it will be easy for you to build 2 at once for both sides.
I would then get 2 large matching planter pots to place on the outside of the seats. In the center (because of your time crunch) how about an outdoor storage box for chair cushions, garden tools, their hose, etc.? You can place some perennial flowers purchased by the flat on top of the storage box. You can keep the flowers in their nursery flats and just wrap some tulle around the entire perimeter of all the flats to dress them up (or any other fabric that matches their theme etc.). Or, how about gifting them a new garden hose and put a hose hanger on the metal support???
I think the final project will be PERFECT! Your plan so far sounds fun and using the porch swing support is brilliant. Now just picture it freshly painted with exterior paint, the hanging personalized signs along with two seats at each side. Huge planters each with some tall center plants and side spiller plants will decorate and give some privacy to the seating. It will be an entire garden build and should be fairly easy to get done on time. You will only be building 2 crate-like seats. The rest is choosing perennial (my suggestion) flowers, planting out 2 pots and decorating the sides of the flats on the storage chest that you can order for pick up or delivery.
To keep your costs down, you can do the 2 box seats and planter pots, leaving out the chest and flats of flowers. Also - do put strings lights on your final project! 😎
You can probably pick up some nice planters on clearance this time of year. Then add a plant or use to put something that "goes" with the wedding theme. Maybe even leave them empty.
Hi! I would use a planter.
I would be tempted to create a backdrop...like grab a piece of plywood and cover it with peel and stick wallpaper in a rustic pattern - wood plank or shiplap. Then I would simply lean it against the top pole behind the signs and add the planters around it.
Building off the idea that Kim had said about adding a back drop, you could have some sort of material across the back, raise it up on some cinder blocks and turn it into a little "selfie" photo station where guests can take a photo of themselves showing your signs for the wedding and date.
planters for sure will help
A plant on each side of the legs or ferns. Potted plants under the sign. You could also wrap the metal with rope, or ribbon.
A floral archway over the top and down the sides would be beautiful. Then plants with the wedding colors in them (if possible) and some greens like ferns.
Some big planters with flowers and solar string lights would be great!
Flowers are always a hit. You could even make a little stand to prop some of them up off the ground and then put some on the ground, too. Add some gauzy white ribbon and twinkle lights.
Some battery operated fairy lights might be another idea to consider.
