I've tried traps and even fly strips. I think the fly strips worked better than the traps. I bought a Flylight and use that now. It just takes about a day before they are all gone.

There are strips that unroll from a small cardboard cylinder that looks like a firecracker with a thumbtack on one end that keeps the strip in place. Follow the directions on the strip. It really works! Just throw out the strip when it's full. It works! I've used it. There's also a tall cylindrical trap made with similar glue. Be very careful when you use either one; the glue is really sticky!

Or if you like, stir up this natural solution.

Make up a solution of sugar water, fresh orange juice & a little boric acid in a 1-quart mayonnaise jar. Close the lid securely & shake up the mixture thoroughly. Open the jar and let it sit with the lid off. The fruit flies should be attracted to the solution shortly. They'll fall in and drown.

They are attracted to moisture and moist fruits. Keep your fruit in tight containers and let your house plant soil dry out completely before watering. Also wipe down sinks and tubs after use.

    Hello Pr,

The vinegar trap in the covered glass jar a cup has always worked for me. Currently I have three casualties.

    Per link below

“Get Rid of Fruitflies with a Homemade Fruit Fly Trap. Pour just enough cider vinegar to cover the bottom of the jar. Add a drop of dish soap (it will break the surface tension of the vinegar so the fruit flies can't just sit atop the liquid). Now, cover the jar with plastic wrap and poke a few holes in the top.”

Im seeing 2-3 causties a day, suspecting our weekly purchased banana supply being the potential carrier. I hope you solve your situation.
