How do I kill grass without killing my dogs?
I recently moved to Mississippi and have fleas in my yard. I also hate mowing so what to do? Can I use asphalt millings? Gravel? And what’s best to put under to be sure it doesn’t grow back?

I have a healthy bed of myrtle, but struggle to keep it grass and weed free
You might look into Centipede grass. It needs very little mowing and of course would be cooler than Asphalt or gravel. Get you dogs flea killer like Frontline. The fleas will jump on the dogs and die.
I use vinegar. Spray the perimeter of my property and base of my house once a month. Needs to be repeated after every rain event. Vinegar will also kill grass. Took 2 applications, then I tilled and reseeded.
yard needs treated no matter what for the fleas also your dogs and carpet maybe even furniture. to really get rid of the grass it needs removed & down about 8"s that is how deep roots grow. Lots of work& Fleas can be in gravel too life cycle & info.https://www.onlynaturalpet.com/holistic-healthcare-library/fleas-ticks/161/lifecycle-of-a-flea-diagram-summary.aspx removing grass permanently from yard without digging Round-Up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1hK2kKthjk more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4kGYeKP_-w another https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2h7aY_n8No Buy concentrate to mix yourself add food coloring to mix so you can see where it is going/being sprayed. Don'y spray in breezez/wind,use protective wear,do not walk in wet solution, mix where you are spraying if you spill where you do not want it rinse/dilute with lots of water.Throw shoes and gloves away after you are done don't wear the shoes in your house , needs to be repeated probably 3x to kill all grass every 10-14 days new blades coming up. Round-Up works by being sprayed on leaves while plant is growing then gets absorbed into plant into root system killing plant. it's safe after it's dry. starts working in as little as 12hrs. need to buy the concentrate that kills for 1 year. get good 2 gallon sprayer to make your job easier & not a back pack in case it leaks you do not want it all over you. Round up is just as safe as the flea pesticides you are going to use on your pets, just don't use either anymore than you need to. once you rid yard and house of fleas just bathe your dogs regularly with Vinegar bath to help keep critters off. If you need stronger stuff you probably still have them elsewhere. Dawn dish soap & vinegar is good to kill & repel fleas on pets don't get in thier eyes or nose! here's info. I found info.for you bathing dogs & cats too. https://www.fabhow.com/kill-fleas-on-dogs-with-dawn-dish-soap.html Fleas SUCK
