Looking for a Weed killer recipe that doesn’t hurt birds

Question

I have bird feeders & birdbath in my front garden. A family of doves browse the ground for dropped seeds. I need to completely redo this bed but have procrastinated because I need to kill a seasons worth of weeds.  I am afraid it will hurt the birds and squirrels that sort of live there. ( not to mention turtle eggs due to hatch in two weeks). I need a diy weed killer that’s safe for small living creatures.   Can u help?

There are various recipes on line using vinegar and dishwashing liquid. Really works. For best result spray them and lay some black out landscape fabric over it for a week or two.

Safe Weed killer: 1 gallon white vinegar, 2 Cups Epsom salts, 1/3 cup Dawn dish soap (blue kind). Mix and apply early in the a.m. but after dew is evaporated. It will kill any plant but is not harmful to birds or animals.

spray bottle and treat weeds at the hottest time of day for best results.

This weed killer is harmful to ANY plant, roses or not. It is great on weeds, that is the great part of this recipe.
