Examine the shutters to see how they are attached - most likely they are screwed in. Get an outdoor grade spray paint and paint them.
Slide newa paper in back and sodes cover window and spray paint. Really easy and works great.

Hello Renee! First you need to see how the shutters are attached. Shutters are so easy to paint. Just be sure to give them a good washing before you paint, but not too much water. Make sure they are completely dried before you paint. Rustoleum 2x makes some great spray paints in sooo many colors to choose from. Sprays on easy, use at least 2 coats, letting the paint dry in between coats. It's amazing how a can of paint (less than $4) can really update and refresh your home! Have fun!

Hard to say, all I see there is a truck. Must be proud huh?
We unscrewed the shutters, hosed and wiped them down, dried them in the sun, then spray painted the fronts and edges. Easy peasy!
If you have any spots that won't clean off you may have to give them a coat of primer first. I have one shutter that has bleached out area (shutters are black) so I'll prime them first.
Renee, nice truck. But do you have a house photo?
A picture of the front of the house showing the shutters would be helpful. My shutters are silicone glued to the house. I wouldn't remove them. Just cover surrounding area with plastic and tape and either hand paint or spray paint them after washing them of dust/dirt. Not difficult at all to do. Pick a color that contrasts the body of the house and goes with the roof color and body of the house. Front door should also match the shutter color.
price shutters in size and colour you would like before buying paints to cover black plastic that will hide black and weather well. be safe. if on the second or third story, hire someone else to look after changing/painting them. i asked siding / roofing worker
for small jon and he said he would do it on his day off. nice fellow with all the tools.
Hi Renee and you are welcome on my suggestion to paint the front door to match the shutters. This way it looks uniformed. With white siding you can paint whatever color you want since its a blank canvas. Whatever is your favorite color. White goes with everything so your options are endless. A red door is good feng shui and yellow is a bright pop of color and cheerfulness and green would go with nature. So whatever look and feel you want go after. So check online or go thru magazines for ideas and what you prefer. You will have the paint anyway for the shutters so paint the front door as well. I'm sure whatever color you decide it will look beautiful.
