Any ideas for a blank wall at the front of our house? I don’t want a trellis, too hot in the summer. Our style is modern/ contemporary.
Flowers would add a pop of color! Check out your neighbors to see what grows well in your conditions.
Michelle...You can even plant them in pots and place where you like
I have a small yard also, but I needed too make it look good, I put some Flowers in, and I spray painted a Rock, white and used stencil numbers and put my House # on it, the neighborhood loved it and now everyone has one on my street! also a Birdbath, and also go and look at some Flea markets, or Garage Sells, you would not believe what people throw away! that you could put in your small yard like small Statues of Animals, ETC and also a small bench, Good Luck!!!!
I'm a Master Gardener in one thing that always really works well as to go vertical. You can add trellises, pots with trellises, tall vertical slim shrubs, some that will flower. I would check with your local extension office and find out what grows well in the area and depending on if it's a rental or not you may want to do some soil testing. You can also grow vegetables and herbs! If you own the house you could look at dwarf trees Etc. I hope that that helps!
