Hi Cindy: What type of area do you live in? Is it an area that gets really cold or hot or has salt water blowing around? Would vinyl fit into your neighbourhood, wood or brick? A lot depends on your budget and what you like. Take a look at your neighbours houses and see what you like. Good luck

    Send us a picture please.

”making over” means what to you? Painting it?

Or do you mean R&R? Remove & Replace?

When cutting into or replacing bits & pieces of siding, it is absolutely essential to look for & address termites, mold & water deflection. Flashing will be critical.

Do you mean replacing the siding? For another kind or just because yours needs work? Here is a picture of replacing clapboard siding on our house. Our house has shingles on the top floor and clapboards on the lower floor. Clapboards are very common here as are brick or stone house or shingled houses. Vinyl would be my last choice.
