I have vinyl siding on my house and over the garage doors there is all empty space which faces the road. There is no curb appeal on the outside of my house..any ideas?

put 3/4 inch mdf for flooring, add a drop downstairway and you have extra storage

I've put platforms over garage doors for storage myself, it's great for storing lawn chairs, coolers and other light bulky items. Just be carefull to not store heavy items up there.

Oh yes, we need a photo. I thought you meant inside the garage.

There are quite a few nice art choices. I've seen everything from butterflies to stars to whatever passion you have. If it were my house I'd probably have Australian Shepherd sillouettes up there. But anything that you like would work.

A simple faux 'hay loft' double door often makes a garage frontage look more charming. Also using divider stips on the doors themselves to break up any large spaces into smaller frames helps break down the 'bigness' of the doors. Use two tones of the color on the doors and frames then to accent the framing divide.

rather depends upon the size, is it just big enough for storage or could you sublet it to some students?

If you live in a coastal area, hang one or two boat paddles above the door. I have seen large eagle plaques over doors, too. If you live in the country, hang a large pitch fork or other farm tool over the door.
  • Artwork or maybe an interesting light fixture.
