drybrush chalk paint on it.
You could use chalk paint or get a quart (or smaller - maybe sample size if you can find one) of regular latex paint at Lowes, Home Depot, Menards or any other store that sells paint. Figure out before you go if you want glossy, semi-gloss, satin, eggshell, or flat paint. Lovely dresser, BTW. Love it!
I would use chalk paint. There is no (or little) prep required and the coverage is great.
I agree with using chalk paint. I would pull a color from the new comforter for the dresser but not the main gray color. Maybe the tan would go nice.
Can I use a rag and rub on the chalk paint?
This is sweet! Just find a pint of paint the same shade of gray-green as your comforter. Thin it down 1:1. Either dry brush or whitewash the whole dresser or just the trim with the paint. Distress the edges and trim if you wish. It will look as if they were designed together. 😇
Look at rub n buff in silver or pewter, https://www.etsy.com/market/rub_n_buff
nope, but you do need to seal it.use either a clear spray polyurethane or minwax wax.
yes mam!
Tape off the areas that you don't want to change color of and then pick the perfect color and paint
Pick any color you like from the comforter that provides some contrast from the dominant color of the dresser, but I would also paint the insets on the headboard the same color. For throw pillows, use another color from the comforter. I would suggest the red (coral?). Use the red on one or two other accessories throughout the room.
Beautiful dresser. What about painting the green with a grey color? Sherwin williams has some beautiful greys!
Yes, the same as the comforter, which looks green, but in 'real life' it is more grey. I am going to try the rub or dry brush method and see what happens. Thank you Debra for taking the time to help. Really appreciated.
Sandra - loved what you did with the twine. I could go that route with the lamps and paint it one of the colours of the comforter. I was thinking the lamps were a bit small though ???? Your thoughts on that?
You could change the green on your Dresser or you could add cushion the same colour green as your dresser to the bed.............
Interesting John - Hadn't thought in that direction. Thanks
