Change out the hardware and paint it. You might want to replace a drawer or 2 with baskets as well.
You might consider painting it, sanding and re-staining it, maybe stencil it or add things to it. It all really depends on what the current decor is and what your goals are for the piece.

you could also buy one from a thrift type store and paint it like you want it to match your decor
We used a small chest of drawers for a printer stand by taking the top shelf out for the printer to sit on and used the drawer under that to hold paper and other assoicated items.
Hello. Could possibly changing the feet to a more furniture type be helpful? Other ideas are changing hardware and finish.
We don't know what your decor is. Can you describe of include a picture?
I would paint it to match the rest of the room. Then find some accessories for the top of it that fit the theme (ie: farmhouse, modern, etc.) for the room.
Hi Marci, there are so many different options for changing a chest of drawers to fit your decor. You can paint it in a color to match the rest of the room or you can even turn it into a gorgeous stack of suitcases - https://acraftymix.com/blog/epic-stack-suitcases/

Hi! I often paint a piece of furniture that I want to blend into a room the same color as the wall it is against. Updating the hardware to the style of the room can help, too. Good luck!
Considering the recent price increase in lumber, if you do not already have the requisite carpentry tools for building a dresser, it will most likely be more cost effective to purchase a ready-made dresser.
Do you have a dresser already, and are you asking how to re-decorate it or re-finish it to better match a family room decor, as opposed to a bedroom?
