Mix up 1 part water to 2 parts flat white latex paint (we used budget ceiling paint from our local hardware store). Brush (don't roll) the paint on in the direction of the wood grain. Wipe off with a paper towel or rag in the direction of the wood grain. Repeat steps 3 and 4 if desired.

Hi, usually whitewash is done with watered down white paint. You can choose the paint brand you like (although one without latex works well for whitewashing - Annie Sloan or powdered milk paint like Fusion Milk paint) and then use a brush or cloth to put it onto the wall and then wipe it back. You want the paint to lighten the wood or paint colour on the shiplap and leave a milkly white appearance.
You can dilute white paint as much as pleses you to get the look you want. I'd test it out on some scrap wood first. When you apply the "whitewash" be sure to keep the thin mixtue from running on the shiplap below; otherwise, you'll have runs showinig up on the shiplap. You can do multiple layers to achieve the look you want.

Mix your paint with water - 50/50. Paint it on the wood with a brush and wipe some off until you have the look you want.

You can dilute white latex paint and then brush on/wipe off with a rag. It is a bit of an experiment to get the exact shade and color you want.
White paint thinned with water is the easiest way. Test it on a scrap piece until you get the consistency you like.
Start by making a mixture of 1 part water and 2 parts white latex paint. Brush it on a scrap piece of shiplap and then wipe it off with a wet rag. If you like the look, continue with this mixture or adjust with more or less paint/water. Always work in the direction of the wood grain. When you're ready to tackle the wall take a bucket of warm water with you. As you wipe the paint mixture off, rinse the rag. That way the wall will look more uniform. Allow time to dry before adding any more coats.
You can use a watered down chalk based paint. Try 2 c. of water to 1 c. of paint, try it in a small area first.

Hello,
Use a watered down Exterior Shed or Garden Timber White paint or Interior Emulsion paint and add extra coats as required. Best wishes
